Dependence of Dust Formation on the Supernova Explosion

چکیده

We investigate the properties, composition, and dynamics of dust formation growth for a diverse set core-collapse supernovae (CCSNe), varying progenitor mass, explosion energy, engine type. These explosions are evolved with 1-D Lagrangian hydrodynamics code out to several hundred days model ejecta as it expands cools. A multigrain nucleation is applied these results. find that higher energies lead an earlier onset formation, smaller grain sizes, larger silicate abundances. Further, we see nuclear burning during leads enhanced dust. Finally, build composite models from our suite predict efficiency CCSNe production function metallicity.

Dust formation in the Cassiopeia A supernova

High angular resolution (6") spectro-imaging observations of Cassiopeia A, the youngest supernova remnant of our galaxy, were performed with ISOCAM, the mid-infrared camera on board of the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO). The remnant was fully mapped with the LW8 filter (10.7-12 m), which probes mainly dust thermal emission. Emission is seen both from the blast wave region and the inner region...

Dust Formation and Survival in Supernova Ejecta

The presence of dust at high redshift requires efficient condensation of grains in SN ejecta, in accordance with current theoretical models. Yet, observations of the few well studied SNe and SN remnants imply condensation efficiencies which are about two orders of magnitude smaller. Motivated by this tension, we have (i) revisited the model of Todini & Ferrara (2001) for dust formation in the e...

Effects of neutrino-driven kicks on the supernova explosion mechanism

We show that neutrino-driven pulsar kicks can increase the energy of the supernova shock. The observed large velocities of pulsars are believed to originate in the supernova explosion, either from asymmetries in the ejecta or from an anisotropic emission of neutrinos (or other light particles) from the cooling neutron star. In this paper we assume the velocities are caused by anisotropic neutri...

Dependence of Dust Obscuration on Star Formation Rates in Galaxies

Many investigations of star formation rates (SFRs) in galaxies have explored details of dust obscuration, with a number of recent analyses suggesting that obscuration appears to increase in systems with high rates of star formation. To date these analyses have been primarily based on nearby (z ≤ 0.03) or UV selected samples. Using 1.4GHz imaging and optical spectroscopic data from the Phoenix D...

Alfvén Wave-driven Supernova Explosion

We investigate the role of Alfvén waves in the core-collapse supernova (SN) explosion. We assume that Alfvén waves are generated by convections inside a proto-neutron star (PNS) and emitted from its surface. Then these waves propagate outwards and dissipate via nonlinear processes and heat up matter around a stalled prompt shock. To quantitatively assess the importance of this process for reviv...
